I am often asked, how do you do what you do?  The answer can be found in this quote by the then up-and-coming Picasso.  “I am always doing that which I cannot do in order to learn how to do it.”

In writerly words… write, write, write.

Here are some excellent writing instructors who have made a huge impact on my efforts as a closet writer.

Reliable Writing Resources

Laurie Schnebly Campbell – Laurie is a fabulous upbeat writing instructor who is also a psychologist and author.  Whether you are new at this writing gig or been around the block once or twice, Laurie’s on-line classes will spur new ideas and generate those answers you can’t quite put your finger on.  Without Laurie’s encouragement, I would not be writing today.

Sherrie Holmes, freelance editor – Sherrie  has the most outrageous sense of humor of anyone I have ever met.  It was this humor that got me through the steep learning curve I did not know I faced when she edited my first manuscript.  Now, I am a stronger writer who knows what works (and what doesn’t) and why.  If you’ve got a manuscript in need of a professional opinion, contact Sherrie.

(stay tuned.  more to come)

Aw, shucks, Nina. Thanks for the plug. You were a good client–you were a fast learner and you worked hard to improve. I wish all my clients were as dedicated as you! And let me second what you said about Laurie Schnebly Campbell. *waving* Laurie is the best writing instructor! I love her online classes!

Thank you Sherrie! For all you have done for me, I could do nothing less. (((hugs)))

2. Laurie Schnebly Campbell - June 4, 2010

Wow, when a friend said “I saw you on Nina’s blog,” I had no idea it would be an endorsement THIS cool — you just made my day!

And then to see Sherrie’s agreement…the two of you will have me all puffed up for the rest of the week. 🙂 Thank you both!

Laurie, who can’t wait to see the rest of the list because at WriterUniv we’re always looking for more great teachers

Laurie, you deserve to be puffed up! And for more than a week. You are an excellent and accessible teacher.

Nina, looking forward to His Personality Ladder in August.
